Well
folks, a while back, ‘fore any of you can remember, two families moved to
Adams County from far away.
These folk had been friends for years and they looked forward to settlin’
near each other.
They worked real hard that first year, clearin’ trees, buildin’
cabins, plantin’ crops, cooperatin’ at every turn.
After a time, they decided a church needed to be built and that is when
trouble broke out.
The Fried family wanted to build the house of worship on the bank of the
river while the Heim family felt it should be on higher ground.
The two families argued about it on and on for weeks ‘til they stopped
speaking to each other at all!
The families didn’t want to have anything to do with each other now, so
they each built their own church where they wanted.
This did not sit well with the Lord, who resolved to teach them a lesson.
One morning, he sent a twister through the county the likes of which had
never been seen. It picked up both
churches and dropped them one on top of the other, right smack between the Fried
and Heim farms.
Well, those two families got the message and made up right quick. They built a new church right where the twister had landed.
They called it Friedheim Church in honor of the “haven of peace” that
it now was.
There was only one problem in building Friedheim Church.
When the families went to salvage parts of the old churches to use in the
new church, they discovered an important part was missing. A search went out
over the countryside to find this. It
was found, but we don’t know where. As
you meander through the corn, please look for clues in the 15 mailboxes so we
can find out the following:
1.
Who
found the part for us?
2.
What
is the missing part that was found?
3. Where was the missing part found?
