We remember our members who are celebrating birthdays this week—Ron Bultemeier, April Erxleben, Drew Heckman, Jacob Bergman, Gabrielle Brandt, Jamie Selking, Emma Buuck, Nick Linnemeier, Hannah Timm, Elfurt Blomenberg, Jacob Conrad, and Misty Gehres.  May our loving Savior direct, bless, and guide their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need.   We remember in our prayers Eldora Fuelling, Lyndsey Arnold, and Bryan Miller.

We remember in our prayers Adam Sielschott and Angela Staub who will be married before the Lord’s Altar this Saturday, August 6, at Friedheim.  We pray the Lord’s blessings upon them as they begin their life together.

We rejoice with Ryan & Jessica (Krueckeberg) Linnemeier on the birth of their son, Logan Anthony, on Tuesday, July 26.  May the Good Shepherd keep an ever-watchful eye on this most precious of His lambs.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “God Our Help in Trouble.”

The men’s softball team has one regular season game this week.  They will play Fuelling at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 1, at Hoagland.  Tournament play begins this weekend.

The Planning Committee has a sample of a pew cushion that will be in church for the next several weeks.  Members are encouraged to use it and then give their opinions to a member of the Planning Committee (Dale Heckman, Tom Blomenberg, or Ron Buuck).  Remember that this is just a sample, the color and design may change if we go with this company and this product.

School will begin soon.  Think of SCRIP when doing your school shopping or getting those end of season bargains!  See Kim Weiland following the worship service this morning to purchase your SCRIP.  You can also E-mail Kim at kimw@sgiinc.com and place your order.

After prayerful consideration, our 8th grade language arts teacher, Yvonne Schwantz, has elected to leave her position to be a stay-at-home mom.  We thank her for her six years of service while we ask the Lord to direct our principal and school board as they address our staffing needs for the upcoming year.

Would you like a school desk?  Wyneken has gotten new desks for the second and third grade classrooms, making available the old desks to our members.  If you would be interested in one, please contact the school as soon as possible.  The desks are currently in the school cafetorium against the stage.  Thanks!

The school office will be open mornings (9 a.m. to noon) in the summer months (or by appointment if this time isn’t convenient).

Wyneken is looking for someone to teach the general music classes (K-8) and direct the upper grade choirs this year.  This is a part-time position of about 12 hours per week.  If you know of someone who may be interested, please have him or her contact Mr. Timm or a member of the school board.  (Friedheim’s school board representatives are Mike Conrad, Randy Everett, and Kent Stoppenhagen.)

Everyone is welcome to come walk through the Learning Garden this summer and check on the progress of what each class has planted.  Volunteers are also needed to come by occasionally and help keep the area clean and weed free.  Thanks in advance for your help!

The Annual Association Meeting will be held in Bingen’s Fellowship Hall on Monday, August 1, at 7 p.m.  Copies of Wyneken’s Annual Report can be found in either entranceway of the church this morning.  Please take a copy home with you and then take it with you to the meeting on the 1st.  Thanks!

Dates to Remember:  Registration Day – Tuesday, August 9; Sports Physical Day – Thursday, August 11

Coaches are still needed for our 5th and 6th grade girls’ basketball teams as well as our wrestling team.  If you are willing to serve in any of these volunteer positions, please contact the school (639-6177).

Wyneken will have its 3rd annual Physical Night on Thursday, August 11.  Dr. Cam Nelson and his staff will offer a physical to any Wyneken student participating in sports (grades 3-8).  Volunteers will be needed to monitor the various stations (eye charts, weight, height, etc.)  You will sign up for a time at registration.
