+ Soli Deo Gloria +

We remember our members who will celebrate birthdays this week—Evie Fuhrman, Shelli Spangler, Brandon Miller, Ben Miller, Randy Moellering, Beth Heimann, Sean Sielschott, and Jordan Buuck. May our loving Savior direct, bless, and guide their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need.

The flowers on the altar are to the glory of God and in loving memory of Candi Shannon, placed in church by her confirmation classmates.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”   This week’s theme is “The Benefits of Obedience.”

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m.  (With the time change, you may wish to double-check the times of the Ohio programs.)  The program airs on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and then on WFCV (1090 AM) at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Stewardship Committee’s Food for Thought:  If you reject God’s call on your life and money becomes your master, you will live in darkness.  Consider this verse:  “For the love of money is a rot of all kinds of evil.  Some people, eager for money have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” – I Timothy 6:10

Have you ever tuned in to “Issues, Etc.” that airs LIVE on Sunday evenings from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) in Fort Wayne and on a tape-delay basis on Sunday evenings from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on WFCV (1090 AM) in Fort Wayne?  “The Ten Commandments” is the topic of this week’s program with discussion led by Dr. Mike Horton of “The White Horse Inn.”

The men’s softball team has two games at Hoagland this week—Flatrock at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 19, and Union at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21.

There will be a door collection this morning to benefit Lutheran Social Services.

The LYF plans on going white water rafting on August 5-7.  This trip is also open to former LYF members and to others in the congregation who may be interested in going.  There will be a short meeting following the worship service this morning to organize this event and find out who is interested in going.  Any questions?  Contact Corbin or Lisa Bultemeier or Jerry Bultemeyer.

Items for the August newsletter should be in the church office no later than Thursday, July 22.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Capitol City Ford Indianapolis Air Show to be held on July 31 and August 1.  See the flier in today’s bulletin for further information.  This event is being co-sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and benefits Riley Hospital for Children.  Our congregational coordinators are Leesa Heckman, Mike Heckman, and Kris Blomenberg.  You can contact them if you have questions.

Attendance:  Sunday Worship Service – 210, Monday Evening Bible Class - 6
