Miller.   May our loving Savior continue to direct, bless, and guide their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  Please keep Larkanne Griffiths, and Tom Dafforn, Hollie Hormann’s father, in your prayers.

The flowers on the altar are to the glory of God and in loving memory of Candice Shannon.  The Confirmation Class of 1997, Candice’s classmates, placed the flowers in church.

We remember Jim & Heidi Wilkinson in our prayers as they are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today.  May the Lord continue to bless this couple.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “God’s Faithful People”.

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m. (Remember the time change may affect the times you can hear these programs). The program airs on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and on WFCV (1090 AM) at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Our Quarterly Voters’ Meeting will be held this morning following the worship service.  Please plan on staying!

The family of Larry Fuhrmann would like to thank Pastor Dahling for his words of comfort and support.  Thanks also to the Bereavement Committee for the luncheon following the funeral.  May God bless you all.

The men’s fastpitch softball team has one game scheduled this week.  They will play Soest on Wednesday, July 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Hoagland.

Tom & Becky DeKoninck invite you to a going-away get together of family, friends, and neighbors on Saturday, July 20, to wish their son, “Matthew,” Good Luck.  Matt leaves for the Marines the first of August.  Come to Tom & Becky’s home anytime after 4:00 p.m. and wish Matt “Good Luck.” 

Join New Hope Lutheran Church for a fish and tenderloin dinner today with serving from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. under the big tent and help New Hope celebrate 25 years of love and grace.  Hot air balloon with rides available, children’s games, moonwalk, puppet shows inside, and more!  You are most welcome to join in the festivities and help us celebrate.

New Hope invites the members of Friedheim to their Senior Citizens Dinner and Program on Thursday, August 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in their Fellowship Hall.  The Rev. Victor Kolch will speak on “End of Life Decisions” with the theme of the day “A Summer Picnic.”  Ed Higgins will play the piano and a free-will offering will be taken to cover the cost of the food.  Call the church office (622-7954) by July 29 to make reservations.

Lutheran Home/Concord Village invites you to their ice cream social this afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Bring the family and enjoy delicious ice cream novelties for only 5 cents each under the big top tent.  Other activities are also planned.

Concordia Educational Foundation is seeking an individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of the Concordia Educational Foundation.  For more information on this position you can check the bulletin board in the north entrance way or call 260-483-1102.  The position is available in mid August.

Please continue to remember our SCRIP program for your summer purchases and during the upcoming school year.  New vendors include Penera Bread, Dairy Queen (Decatur), and Promise Christian Store in New Haven.  See Kim Weiland following this morning’s worship service.

The school office will be open mornings only (9 a.m. to noon) during the summer months.

The Scrapbooking group will meet in Friedheim’s church basement today from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Wyneken Association Meeting will be held Monday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m. (note time change) in St. John, Bingen’s Fellowship Hall.  Please make plans to attend.  Annual Reports are available in each entrance way of the church for you to look over prior to the meeting.

The 8th graders will be manning the hot dog wagon outside the Decatur Scott’s grocery store on Friday & Saturday, August 2 & 3, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Come out and enjoy a drink and a dog!
