The Acolyte Brandon Buuck

We remember our members who will celebrate birthdays this week –Wally Bultemeier, Paul DeKoninck, Kolton Everett, Jessica P. Linnemeier, Cassie Conrad, Andy Buuck, Ryan Hockemeyer, and Scott Hormann.  May our Loving Father continue to direct, bless, and guide them.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.  We especially remember Karl King who is receiving rehabilitation at Markle, Indiana, Rev. Timothy Sims who underwent knee replacement surgery, Virginia Roy, mother of Lin Gorman, Larkanne Griffiths, and Tom Dafforn, Hollie Hormann’s father, in our prayers.

We welcome Terry and Linda McAllister as communicant members of our congregation.  Linda completed adult instruction on Tuesday, June 11, while Terry became a member through a profession of faith.  We pray the Lord’s richest blessings upon this family.

We rejoice with Kurt Bradtmueller and Teresa Brode who were married yesterday afternoon at Friedheim.  We pray the Lord’s richest blessings upon them as they begin their lives together.

We also remember Brian & Erin Evans in our prayers as they will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary this Saturday, June 22.  May the Lord continue to be at the heart of their home.

We remember in our prayers the family and friends of Martha Becker, Helen Erxleben’s sister, who was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 12, and was given Christian burial this past week.  We pray that our Loving Savior will comfort this family as they mourn and remind them of that great day when they will be reunited in heaven.

On this Father’s Day we remember all those men who have influenced lives, whether as a father, grandfather, uncle, or special friend.  May our Lord continue to bless those who are a blessing to us.

We thank Amy DeKoninck for sharing her gift of song with us this morning.  May the Lord continue to bless her.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “Freedom from Fear.”

Pastor, Tammy, and family will be leaving for a well-deserved vacation this Saturday and will be returning on Thursday, June 27.  If you need pastoral care while Pastor is gone, please contact Pastor Tom Olson (Bingen) or Pastor Dan Brege (Preble).  We pray for their safety as they travel.

Everyone has blessings.

The foolish person squanders them.

The practical person counts them.

The good person shares them.

Wyneken News

Purchase your SCRIP certificates from Kim Weiland following today’s worship service.  Think of SCRIP when planning your summer vacation or even looking at those summer sidewalk sales.

The school office will be open mornings only (9 a.m. to noon) during the summer months.

The 3- and 4-year-old Pre-k classes will be held at Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School beginning this fall (2202-2003 school year).  We are excited about having all of our students in one location.  We still have openings for both the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes.  We also are accepting enrollment applications for students in K-8th grade.  If you would like to enroll your child or know of someone who is interested in our school, please call the school office (639-6177) between 9 a.m. and noon, Monday-Friday.

A Little Boy’s Prayer

Last night my little boy confessed to me
Some childish wrong;
And kneeling at my knee,
He prayed with tears—
“Dear God, make me a man
Like daddy—wise and strong;
I know you can.”

Then while he slept
I knelt beside his bed,
Confessed my sins,
And prayed with low-bowed head:
“O God, make me a child
Like my child here—
Pure, guileless,
Trusting Thee with faith sincere!”
