We remember our members who will celebrate birthdays this week –Ramona Black, Derek Schultz, Ruby Werling, Mitzi Cale, Loren Hartmann, Krista Roseberry, Tami Schultz, David Blomenberg, Adam Buuck, Zac Lichtle, Sherri Johnson, and Andrea Johnson.  May our Loving Father continue to direct, bless, and guide them.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.  We especially remember Karl King who is receiving rehabilitation at Markle, Indiana, Virginia Roy, mother of Lin Gorman, and Tom Dafforn, Hollie Hormann’s father, in our prayers.

We welcome Kurt Bradtmueller into our church family.  Kurt has transferred to us from St. John’s Bingen.  May the Lord bless him in his new church home.

We remember in our prayers Clarence & Irene Bultemeier who celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary yesterday and Elfurt and Adele Blomenberg who will celebrate their 53rd anniversary this Wednesday, May 29.  May our loving Savior continue to bless these couples.

Congratulations to Dean & Cindy Wass on the birth of their first grandchild, Grace Marie Caffee, daughter of Joe & Cheryl (Wass) Caffee, on Wednesday, May 22.  May the Good Shepherd keep an ever-watchful eye on this most precious of His lambs.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “Obedience to God’s Word.”

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m. (Remember the time change may affect the times you can hear these programs). The program airs on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and again at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on WFCV (1090 AM).

There will be a Special Voters’ Meeting following the worship service this morning.  Two items are on the agenda—the transfer of money from the Julie Harants-Sambol Education Fund (interest income) to the assistance of students attending Concordia High School and our financial situation.

Our men’s softball team has one game this week.  They play Flatrock on Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. at Hoagland.

Our church is scheduled to assist the residents of Lutheran Home to their worship service on Sunday, June 23.  We need approximately 12 people to do this.  If you want more information or are willing to help, please contact Margaret Buuck at 639-3835.

Youth ushers for June are Tyler Armao and Craig & Daniel Linnemeier.

Altar Guild for June is Kathy Bultemeier and Joyce Heckman.

Next Sunday two church services will be offered—an early-bird service beginning at 7:30 a.m. and our regular service at 9:00 a.m.  Holy communion will be celebrated at both services.

The LWML continues to collect items for the two in-gathering projects for the District LWML convention.  Items needed for “The Sharing Place” are newborn size onesies, newborn size gowns, receiving blankets, quilt or heavy blanket (crib size), newborn socks or booties, newborn size sweater, small stuffed toy, baby wipes, lotion, or powder.  The “Emmaus Food Pantry” is in need of lite or sugar free foods for diabetics, canned foods with easy open tops or tab openers for the homeless, and all sizes of warm caps and gloves/mittens for the winter season (men, women, or children).  There are boxes in each entranceway for you to place your donation.

There will be an “All You Care to Eat” fish & tenderloin benefit dinner (catered by Ed Fox) this Friday, May 31, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Flatrock gym.  Carry-outs are available.  The cost is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children (ages 6-12). The benefit is for Peter & Sandy Meyer.  Peter is the principal at Flatrock.  His wife, Sandy, has suffered from seizures for many months and recently underwent experimental brain surgery in Cincinnati.  This is a “Helping Hands” event.

Council Members:  The minutes from the May 7 Council meeting are in your slots in the entranceway of church.  The next Council meeting is Tuesday, June 4, at 8:00 p.m.
