We remember our members who will celebrate birthdays this week – Kent Kiefer, Brian Moeller, Leonard Bultemeier, Stanley Fuhrmann, Matt Gorman, Richard Moellering, Seth Secaur, Micki Blomenberg, Angie Buuck, and Valerie Jackson.  We also remember Rae Fuhrmann, our kindergarten teacher, Teri Conrad, one of our Sunday School teachers, and Addy Schuller who teaches at Bethlehem (Ossian).  May the Lord continue to direct, bless, and guide them.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.  We especially remember Kent Krueckeberg, father of Jessica Linnemeier, Virginia Roy, mother of Lin Gorman, and Tom Dafforn, Hollie Hormann’s father, in our prayers.

We remember in our prayers the family and friends of Hilda Bauermeister who was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 21, and will be given Christian burial on Monday, March 25.  Visitation will be at Zwick’s today from noon to 5 p.m.  May the God of all comfort be with those who mourn and remind them of that great day when they will be reunited with their loved one in heaven.

The flowers on the altar are to the glory of God and in honor of Pastor Dahling’s 15 years of serving this congregation.  We pray that God will continue to bless Pastor and his family as he continues to serve the Lord.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “Holy Week.”

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m.  The program airs Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and again at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on WFCV (1090 AM).

There will be several opportunities to worship our Lord during this Holy Week.  On Maundy Thursday the service begins at 7:30 p.m.  Holy communion will be celebrated.  Pastor Dahling’s sermon will be “The Sixth Petition—Lead Us Not into Temptation.”  On Good Friday there will be a Service of Readings, Hymns, and Prayers at 1:00 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. the Good Friday Service of Darkness will be held.  Holy communion will be celebrated at the 7:30 p.m. service.  Pastor Dahling’s sermon will be “The Seventh Petition—But Deliver Us from Evil.”  Next Sunday, there will be an Easter sunrise service that begins at 6:30 a.m.  The Easter Festival Service (with communion) will be held at 9:00 a.m.  The LYF will serve an Easter breakfast in the Parish Hall between the sunrise and festival services.

COUNCIL MEMBERS:  The minutes from the March 5 Council Meeting are in your slots in the entranceway of the church.  Please pick them up as you leave the worship service this morning.  The next Council meeting is Tuesday, April 2.

LYF Members:  Tentative plans are to have a “lock in” at Wyneken on Friday, March 29, following the Good Friday worship service.  On Saturday morning, the LYF members will come to Friedheim and set up for the Easter breakfast before heading home.  If for some reason, the “lock in” is cancelled, you are to be at the Parish Hall at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Be at the Parish Hall be 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 31.  Each youth group member is asked to bring one dozen rolls for the breakfast except for the sophomores who are to bring one gallon of orange juice.  Questions?  Contact Corbin or Lisa Bultemeier.

There will be an AAL meeting following the worship service this morning.

Just a reminder that if you are putting flowers in church for the Easter garden and did not purchase your plants from the Decorating Committee, you need to have your flowers in church by 10 a.m. on Saturday.  If you wish an acknowledgement in the bulletin, the needed information must be in the church office no later than Tuesday.

The LWML Thursday morning Bible class will not meet this week (Maundy Thursday).  They will meet again on April 4 at 9 a.m. at the home of Lucile Stoppenhagen.

The Bereavement Committee thanks those who helped with or contributed to the recent funeral dinner.  If you haven’t picked up your dish, you can find it in the Parish Hall kitchen.

“In the Cross of Christ I Glory” is the theme of the LWML Spring Praise Service that will be held on Saturday, April 6, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Ossian.  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the service starting at 9:00 a.m.  The guest pastor will be Rev. Daniel Coffey with special music being provided by Wyneken children.  An ingathering will be held for the Adams County Crisis Shelter.  Babysitting will also be available.  A free will donation will be accepted for the luncheon served by the ladies from New Hope.  If you plan on attending, please contact Marlene Conrad (547-4597).

The 11th Annual Lutheran Home/Concord Village AAL/Lutheran Brotherhood Bargain Bonanza Garage Sale will be held at Southtown Mall on April 11-13.   Donations are being accepted on Friday, April 5, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, March 30 and April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Bring items to the delivery entrance on the east side of the mall.  Proceeds from this year’s sale will be used to construct a portico at the entrance to Lutheran Home’s Health and Rehab Center nursing area.  This will greatly aid residents, family members, and visitors who must enter or leave the facility during inclement weather.  For more information call 260-447-1591.

Take a moment to read  “By Grace Alone” that is included in this morning’s bulletin.  It concerns the missionary work of LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots).  Let us pray for the continued success of this ministry.
