+ SOLI  DEO GLORIA +

We remember our members who will celebrate birthdays this week – Delmar Heckman, Don Buuck, Lisa Lee, Evelyn Keuneke, Jeff Bradtmueller, Shirley Witte, and Chris Putteet.  We also remember Heidi Werling, our 2nd grade teacher, Sharon Franke, our Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, and Monica Stoppenhagen who teaches at Heritage Junior High School.  May the Lord continue to direct, bless, and guide them.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.  We especially remember Velma Schuller who is a patient at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Kent Krueckeberg, father of Jessica Linnemeier, Virginia Roy, mother of Lin Gorman, who is a patient at Lutheran Hospital, Tom Dafforn, Hollie Hormann’s father, who is also at Lutheran Hospital, and Katharine (Katie) Sedwick, daughter of our former seminarian, Mark Sedwick, in our prayers.

The flowers on the altar are to the glory of God and in loving memory of Elsie Buuck.  Her family has placed the flowers in church.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “The Good Life.”

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m.  The program airs Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and again at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on WFCV (1090 AM).

Midweek Lenten services continue on Wednesday. The service begins at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Dahling’s sermon will be “The Third Petition—Thy Will Be Done.”

We will be “breaking ground” for the expansion at Wyneken this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the building site.  If you want to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony, please bring your own shovel. (Students, parents, grandparents, and congregational members are encouraged to participate.)  Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

There will be a door collection today to benefit WLAB and Worship for Shuts Ins.

There will be no Sunday School and Bible Class next Sunday because of the Soup & Sandwich Dinner.  Classes will resume on the 17th.

Easter flower order forms are due today if you wish the Decorating Committee to place the order.  There are boxes in each entranceway for you to deposit these forms.

The AAL will again be serving refreshments (cookies and drinks) following the midweek Lenten services.  If you would be willing to help with this project, please contact Delmar or Joyce Heckman.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Salads and pie donations will also be needed for March 10.  If you can donate a salad, please call Stan or Tami Stoppenhagen (728-9101).  For pie or cake donations, please call Jeff or Patty Strickler (74-7354) today.  With the congregation’s support, this will be another successful dinner.

Please remember that there will also be a craft and bake sale at the Soup & Sandwich Dinner.  If you wish to donate a craft item, please have it to the Parish Hall by Friday.  Baked goods can be brought to Wyneken on Sunday morning.  Thanks!

The men’s basketball team begins tournament play tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. vs. Pleasant Mills at Monmouth.

The LYF will have a baked potato bar prior to the March 6 midweek Lenten service.  Besides baked potatoes, hot turkey sandwiches will also be served.  A freewill offering will be accepted.  Mark your calendar and plan on attending.

The LYF will also have a gym night today beginning at 4 p.m.
