We remember our members who will celebrate birthdays this week—Mike Brandt, Dave Miller, Tami Stoppenhagen, Kathy Moellering, Ethan Lehman, Armilla Conrad, Cam Thieme, Hanna Walker, Shelby Kiess, and Christopher Daniel Schuller (his 1st!).  We also remember Marv Drier, one of our 8th grade teachers, as well as Jean Timm, one of our Sunday School teachers, and Toney Bergman who teaches in the public sector.  May the Lord continue to direct, bless, and guide them.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.

We remember the family and friends of Joann Sullivan, especially the members of Golden Meadows who have lost a dear friend (including Bill Fuhrman).  She was called to her heavenly home last Tuesday and was given Christian burial on Friday.

We welcome into church membership through Holy Baptism Zane Allen Buuck, son of Roger & Julie (Reed) Buuck.  Serving as godparents are Matt & Mandy Branstrator and Wally & Sherri Johnson.  We pray that the Good Shepherd will keep an ever-watchful eye on this most precious of His lambs.

We rejoice with Mark & Carma (Kleine) Conrad on the birth of their daughter on Thursday, January 10.  We pray that the Good Shepherd will keep an ever-watchful eye on this most precious of His lambs.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “Called to Witness.”

There will be a door collection this morning to benefit Concordia Seminary.

The LYF will have a short meeting following the worship service this morning.  They need to finalize plans for next Sunday’s toboggan trip to Pokagon.  Plans are to leave after church.  Come to the meeting for full details.

The LYF also has two events scheduled for February.  On the 10th they will be going to Timber Ridge to ski.  (A short meeting will be held after church on February 3 to get a count of those going.  You may bring a friend.  Cost is $40.)  The LYF will also have another spaghetti supper.  The supper will be held prior to the Ash Wednesday service on February 13.  Serving will begin at 6 p.m. with LYF members asked to come by 4:30 p.m.

Parents, if you are willing to help with any of these activities (driving to Pokagon or Timber Ridge or helping with the spaghetti supper), please contact Corbin or Lisa Bultemeier.

Results of the LYF election are as follows:  Kevin Heckman – president, Amy DeKoninck – vice president, Candace Sielschott – treasurer, Cheryl Kiefer – secretary, and Dan Buuck – official “go-fer.”

The men’s basketball team will play The Crossroad tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. at Monmouth.

Missing JETS (Just Everyone Together Socially)?  The group will meet on Saturday, February 16, at 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  Watch the newsletter for more information.  Come, and be a part of this group!

In the next few months, nearly four million dollars of loans will be made to congregations in our Indiana District from the LCEF.  Your investment into the ministry of LCEF is important and a true blessing to those congregations that are looking to expand their ministries through a low cost loan.  For more information about the investment programs available through LCEF, call the Indiana District LCEF offices (1-800-837-1145, extension 210).  This does not constitute an offer to buy or a request to sell.  The offering is made solely through LCEF’s Offering Circular.
