“Not Too Much Trouble”
Luke 7:1-10

1.      He goes to a home of a pagan, a hated Roman enemy.
2.      Faith is believing; the lowest, cheapest form of humanity.
3.      He praises an unbeliever’s faith more than all others in the land.

We remember those members who will celebrate birthdays this week – Wally Bultemeier, Paul DeKoninck, Kolton Everett, Jessica P. Linnemeier, Cassie Conrad, Andy Buuck, Ryan Hockemeyer, and Scott Hormann. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless them.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.  We especially remember Jared Witte who has finally come home and Kent Krueckeberg, Jessica Linnemeier’s father, who was also hospitalized this past week.

We remember in our prayers Erin Heimann and Brian Evans who will be married this Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.  We pray that the Lord will bless this couple as they begin their lives together.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “God’s Power of Life over Death.”

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m. (Ohio times).  The program airs Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and again at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 1090 AM.

The men’s softball team has only one game this week.  They play Union on Monday, June 18, at Hoagland at 7:00 p.m.  The game with Zion, Decatur, on Tuesday has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

There will be a door collection next Sunday, June 24, to benefit the Ft. Wayne Seminary.   The Seminary sustained damage from the recent tornado.

Are you ready for some more of that delicious barbequed chicken?  The 8th grade class will again sponsor several dinners this year.  The first one is today.  The cost is only $4 for half a chicken.

The Men’s Fastpitch Softball League is sponsoring a golf outing on July 14 at the Grey Goose.  It will be four-man Florida scramble with a 7 a.m. shotgun start at a cost of $45 per person.  Payment would be appreciated two weeks prior to the tournament.  Please contact Dale Gallmeyer if you have any questions or want to participate in this outing.

Dear Members of Friedheim,

Thank you doesn’t seem quite enough to say for all the Christian care and concern shown to us following Jared’s birth and hospital stay.  We have appreciated the prayers, food, visits, gifts, help with the farm work, and cards.  We want to say a special thanks to Pastor Dahling for his many visits to the hospital, his prayers, and guidance.  Jared is adjusting to life at home.  We pray God’s richest blessings on each of you – family, friends, neighbors, and our church family.

Mark, Dian, & Jared Witte

There will be an AAL meeting this morning following the worship service.

The 9th Annual Lutheran Night at the Wizards will be held on Saturday, June 30.  Tickets are $6 each.  Contact the AAL office in Decatur (724-4222), the Ft. Wayne office, Kathy Bultemeier, or an AAL officer.

The LWML will continue their ingathering through August 12.  You may still bring items to church and place them in the boxes in either entrance way.  A list of needed items is posted in the entranceway.  One item needs to be added to that list.  Christian children’s books, in good condition, are also needed.

Attendance:  Sunday Worship Service  – 257
