+ SOLI  DEO GLORIA +

We remember those members who will celebrate birthdays this week – Cindy Krueckeberg, Glenn Buuck, Chelsae Armao, Calvin Buuck, Leona Worth, Willis Conrad, Lin Gorman, and Kelly Mourey.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their life.  We especially remember Jared Witte, while improving, remains in the neonatal intensive care unit at Lutheran Hospital, Irene Kiess and Jane Thieme who were both hospitalized this past week and Kent Krueckeberg, Jessica Linnemeier’s father, who was also hospitalized this past week.

We remember the Class of 2001 – Sam Conrad, Meri Everett, Kim Fuhrmann, Matt Kiefer, Matt Knipstein, Josh Miller, Sabrina Putteet, Candice Shannon, Adam Sielschott, Josh Stoppenhagen, Jason Werling, and Kristie Werling – in our prayers today.  We pray that the Lord will continue to guide and bless them as they enter college, the military, or the work world.

Included in this morning’s bulletin is our weekly study guide, “Time in the Word.”  This week’s theme is “God has no Boundaries.”

Tune in to the Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m. (Ohio times).  The program airs Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD (92.7 FM) and again at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 1090 AM.

The men’s softball team has two games this week.  They play Fuelling on Monday, June 11, and Bingen on Wednesday, June 13.  Both games will be played at Hoagland and will begin at 8:30 p.m.

There will be a door collection on Sunday, June 24, to benefit the Ft. Wayne Seminary.   The Seminary sustained damage from the recent tornado.

Are you ready for some more of that delicious barbequed chicken?  The 8th grade class will again sponsor several dinners this year.  The first one will be on Father’s Day, June 17.  Presale tickets will be available today.  The cost is only $4 for half a chicken.  See Sara Blomenberg, Emily Conrad, or Megan Selking.

The Men’s Fastpitch Softball League is sponsoring a golf outing on July 14 at the Grey Goose.  It will be four-man Florida scramble with a 7:00 a.m. shotgun start at a cost of $45 per person.  Payment would be appreciated two weeks prior to the tournament.  Please contact Dale Gallmeyer if you have any questions or want to participate in this outing.

The 9th Annual Lutheran Night at the Wizards will be held on Saturday, June 30.  Tickets are $6 each.  Contact the AAL office in Decatur (724-4222), the Ft. Wayne office, Kathy Bultemeier, or an AAL officer.

The LWML will continue their ingathering through August 12.  You may still bring items to church and place them in the boxes in either entrance way.  The following items are needed:

Attendance:  Sunday Worship Service (early) – 50 with 46 receiving Holy Communion; Sunday Worship Service (late) – 207 with 137 receiving Holy Communion; Monday Evening Bible Class – 7.

Wyneken News

Lowell Timm has accepted our call to serve as Wyneken’s principal.  He and his family will move here sometime this summer.  We pray God’s richest blessings on the Timm family.

Your help is needed at our annual school cleanup.  Two dates have been set – Monday, June 25, starting at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday morning, June 30, beginning at 8:00 a.m.  If you have questions, you may contact Kim Ehlerding (547-4229).

We remember in our prayers Marvin Drier who has been issued a call to teach at a school in Bay City, Michigan.  We pray that the Lord will guide him as he contemplates this call.
