Immediately following this morning's service, the LYF will be serving Easter breakfast in the Parish Hall.  This morning's menu includes scrambled eggs, ham, rolls, fruit salad, coffee, milk, and juice.  All members are invited to attend.

You are also invited to return for our Easter Festival Service with Holy Communion which will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The sermon will be "Is There Life after Death?"

We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week - Dick Miller, Duane Kiess, Tyler Armao, George Geyer, Alexander Jon Smithley (his first), Jan Linnemeier, and Taya Amsbury. We also remember our Pre-K teacher, Anne Hess, as well as Bonnie Buuck, one of our Sunday School teachrs, and  Cindy Des Jean who teaches in the public school in our prayers.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  We especially remember Joyce Heckman who underwent two surgeries this past week at  IU Medical Center in Indianapolis.  If you would like to send her get well wishes or words of encouragement, correspondence can be mailed to Joyce Heckman; IU Hospital; 550 North University Blvd.; Indianapolis, IN  46202-5250.

Once again we have been given the privilege of sharing with you another Holy Week and Easter.  The Lord has truly blessed us in many significant  and incredible ways.  We are Easter people.  May we continue to experience the Lord's presence in our lives.  -- Pastor Dahling and family.

We wish to thank the members of the LYF and their families (and our LYF Counselors, Corbin and  Lisa Bultemeier) for their service in providing this morning's Easter breakfast.  Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

Included in this morning's bulletin is our weekly study guide, Time in the Word.  Please take a few moments to look over this material.  The theme for this week is "Faith in the Risen Christ."

Hear Dr. Meyer's "Lutheran Hour" message, "The Lord be with You,"  next Sunday.  Doctors, nurses, visitors peering at you on your sick bed.  Illness can leave you feeling so alone.  And alone you are, unless "the Lord be with you:.  Dr. Meyer talks about the One who is on your side  when you feel all alone.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. (Ohio time) and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m. (Ohio time).  The program can also be heard on Sundays at 8:05 a.m. on  WBZD  (92.7 FM) and again at 3:30 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. on 1090 AM.

There will be NO Sunday School or Bible Class today because of Easter services.

The Confirmation Class of 2001 will have a short practice and their pictures taken next Saturday, April 28,  at 8:30 a.m. 

The Trustees would like to thank all those who came to grounds clean up last Saturday.  Your help was appreciated.

The LWML/LLL Spring Praise Rally will be held next Sunday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Peter (Fuelling).  The speaker for the afternoon will be Rev. Paul Toulette who is currently working on his doctorate at the Ft. Wayne Seminary.  He will be discussing Haiti.   Supper will be served.  A free will donation will be accepted.

Tickets for the annual Lutheran Home Card Party are available from Margaret Buuck.  Date for this event is April 18 beginning at 1:30 p.m. and will be held in Assembly Hall at Lutheran Home.  Tickets are $3.

The lower level of Concord Village II will be one of the locations of Focus on Health on Thursday, April 26, from 7:00 a.m. to noon.  If you are over 18 years of age, you may participate in this free health check up.  Optional tests are available for a nominal fee (blood chemistry test - $24; hemogram blood test - $6).

The 10th Annual Bargain Bonanza Extravaganza (BBE) Garage Sale is coming again to Southtown Mall in the former JC Penney store.  The garage sale will be held on Thursday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Donations can be brought to the delivery entrance on the southeast side of the mall on Fridays (3:00 p.m. to 6:00  p.m.) and Saturdays (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) beginning Friday, April 20, through Saturday, May 6.

Sweet Corn Growers Needed!  If you would be willing to grow extra sweet corn for the Cornfusion produce stand, please contact Teri Conrad (724-8464).  Any amount you wish to donate, from a couple rows to an acre or two, would be appreciated.

Our congregation's men's softball season will begin soon.  The current players ask for anyone who likes competition, plus outdoor Christian fellowship, to join their team.  Contact Steve Conrad or Kevin Buuck for more information.

A special thanks to those who donated cakes for Lutheran Home's April birthday celebrations.  The residents appreciate your thoughtfulness.

The Decorating Committee wishes to thank those who purchased plants through the committee, donated money, or brought flowers themselves.  The Easter garden certainly enhanced our worship service this morning.  You may pick up your flowers following this morning's service or you may wish to keep the flowers in church to be enjoyed for a few more Sundays.

Wyneken News

We remember in our prayers Jim Smith, currently serving as principal at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Ft. Wayne.  He has been called to serve as our principal.  (He has also received three other calls.)  May the Lord guide him as he contemplates this call and keep our Wyneken school in your prayers.

Tuesday, April 17, is the date for the last PTL meeting of the 2000-2001 school year.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Election of officers and the budget will be discussed. 

There will be no afternoon bus service for East Allen students on Thursday, April 19.  Please make arrangements for your child to be home.

Grandparents/Special Friend Day will be held on  Friday, April 20.  Registration begins at 10 a.mChapel will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Market Day order forms need to be returned by Tuesday, April 24.   Pick-up date will be Monday, May 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Order forms are included in this morning's bulletin.

If you were unable to attend kindergarten roundup held on April 3, but are planning to send your child to Wyneken for kindergarten next fall, please contact the school office.  Forms must be on file with North Adams on or before the first day of school.

The girls have a varsity soccer game with Bethlehem on Wednesday, April 18, at 4:30 p.m.
