+ SOLI DEO GLORIA +

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  We especially remember  Lydia Kalthoff, who is a patient at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Doris Conrad, who was hospitalized this past week, and also for Andy Buuck, who has now returned home to recuperate.

We extend our christian sympathy to the family and friends of Walter Droege, who was called to his heavenly home, this past Wednesday.  May the God of all comfort be with those who mourn his passing.

We remember our members celebrating birthdays this week -- Amy Erxleben,  Tammy Dahling,  and Dirk Stoppenhagen.   We also remember our 3rd grade teacher, Michelle Martin, as  well as, Stan Stoppenhagen, one of our Sunday School teachers, in our prayers.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

Included in this morning's bulletin is a study guide ("Time in the Word") for this week.  Please take a few moments each day to go over this information.  The theme for the week is "A Life of Repentance".

Listen to  The Lutheran Hour.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of  Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m.  The program can also be heard on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WBZD (92.7 FM) and at  3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on WFCV (1090).  Tune in to hear Dr. Schultz's sermon, "Lent Is No Accident" - John 19:35-36. Who is really responsible for the death of Jesus?  Why do the four Gospel differ in the stories they tell?  Dr. Wallace Schultz says the gospel writers describe the life, death, and resurrection of Christ from different but noncontradictory points of view.

The men's basketball team will be playing in their end of the season tournament on Monday, March 12 at 6:00p.m. at Monmouth Elementary.

The Tabea Society will be having extra quilting on Wednesday, March 14th.

The Morning Glories will not be meeting this week.

Wyneken News

Chapel offerings for March will be going to the Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services.  Bethesda Lutheran Homes have provided Christ-centered care and services to people with mental retardation since 1904.  You can make a difference in someone's life, whether it is donating your time or gifts, or spreading word of Bethesda's ministry.  Our Wyneken students and the residents of Bethesda appreciate your support.

See Kim Weiland, our new church representative, after the worship service today, if you wish to purchase SCRIP or if you would like to know how you can help.  Thank you to everyone who participates in this worthwhile program.

Mrs. Werlings's 5th grade and Ms. Klenke's 1/2 grade clases would like to thank you for your generous support of their chapel offering project.  They were able to send almost $440.00 to the Lutheran Schools and Churches in Ghana, Africa for Bible study books.

Congratulations to Tyler Armao and Alicia Drier who will represent our Wyneken School in the regional science fair at IPFW.  A good job was done by all the students who participated.

This week, beginning March 12, will be achievement testing time for grades Kindergarten--8th.  Please be sure your children have adequate rest and nutrition during the week.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are upcoming on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23; these days will be half days with dismissal at 12:25p.m.  North Adams students will have bus service on both days, but East Allen students will need to arrange for rides home.

Wyneken's spring break will follow the East Allen schedule this year and will be the week of April 2--April 6.  North Adams students will not have any bus service the previous week, March 26--March 30, due to the North Adams spring break. Please make arrangements for your children's transportation to and from school during this week.

Wyneken is currently collecting aluminum can tabs to help support the Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis.  There are a few cardboard boxes for collection in the entry ways, for your use.  You can also bring the tabs to the school office.  This collection will go through the end of the school year.  Thank you for your help.

The wrestling team will be having a home meets this week on Monday, March 12 and on Thursday, March 8,  at 4:00p.m.
