We welcome Fred & Tina Geels to the Friedheim family.  They completed adult instruction on November 22.  Their son, Freddie Ray, was baptized on September 10.  We pray God's richest blessings upon them in their new church home.

We remember our members celebrating birthdays this week -- Gerhard Werling, Dawn Miller, Dorothy Heckman, Sara Werling, Marvin Conrad, and Steve Conrad.  We also remember our kindergarten teacher, Rae Fuhrmann, as well as Kristie Brown who teaches in the public school in our prayers.  In addition, we  remember Rich Weiland, our assistant Sunday School superintendent.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  We especially remember Hildegard Kiefer who is a patient at Parkview Hospital.

Included in this morning's bulletin is a study guide ("Time in the Word") for this week.  Please take a few moments each day to go over this information.  The theme for this week is "Preparation for the Lord's Coming."

Make plans to attend our first midweek Advent service this Wednesday, December 6.  Services will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Our Seminarian, Bob Armao, will deliver the sermon message.

Listen to  The Lutheran Hour.  The show airs on Sunday on WLW (700) out of  Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. and on Van Wert stations WERT (1220) and WKSD (99.7 FM) at 10:30 a.m.  The program can also be heard on Sunday at 8:05 a.m. on WBZD (92.7 FM) and at  3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on WFCV (1090).

This morning eight Pre-K'ers will receive the first pieces of their nativity sets.  These sets are funded by the Harants family in loving memory of their daughter, Julie.  Receiving their nativities this morning are Jacob Bickle, Becca Evans,   Kolton Everett, Anna Franke, Freddie Geels, Kayla Johnson, Tia Lee, and Alyssa Strickler.

Ladies, make plans to attend this year's Advent By Candlelight.  It will be held tomorrow evening with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and serving beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Didn't get your reservation in?  There are just a few openings left.  If you would still like to come, please contact Ann Crosby by 3:00 p.m. today.  Don't forget to bring your items for the in-gathering for the Adams County Crisis Center.  Needed items include boxed dinners, cake and brownie mixes, canned meats, snack items, grocery gift certificates, or cash.  Questions?  Contact Ann Crosby or Doris Conrad.

LYF members are reminded that a gym night is being planned for today at Wyneken beginning at 6:30 p.m.   Plans for a spaghetti supper on December 13 prior to the midweek Advent service will be finalized.  Serving will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Set up will start at 5:00 p.m.  Parents, if you would like to help with the supper, please contact Corbin or Lisa Bultemeier.  Thanks!

There are less than 80 cookbooks left  and only 20 "Hints" books available.  If you wish to purchase any for holiday giving, you may wish to do so soon.    Cookbooks are $8 while the Almanac is $4.   The cookbook committee wanted to close their books on November 30.  Please turn in your money and/or the remainder of the cookbooks to the committee member from whom you received the books.  Thanks!  Questions?  Please contact one of the committee members (Becky DeKoninck, Karen Gallmeyer, Mary Gallmeyer, Shirley Hormann, or Sylvia Schuemann).

A new SCRIP order form is included in this morning's newsletter.  Take a moment to look over those participating, complete your order form, and return it to Kris Blomenberg.  Just a reminder that not all SCRIP certificates are kept "in stock" or in the quantities that you might wish to purchase this Christmas season.  If you want to be sure that you get the certificates you desire, please have your order to Kris by December 16.  The  SCRIP ordered by the 16th will be available by December 20.  See Kris Blomenberg if you wish to purchase some SCRIP today.
