TLH #262 "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"©
In the Name of God, the Father, Who created us; in the Name of God,
the Son, Who redeemed us; in
the Name of God, the Holy Ghost, Who gave us eternal life.
The Confession (in unison)
|Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against You alone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, so that we can be the children You would have us to be.|

The Gathering of the Morning Offerings
|The Rite of Confirmation||After the confirmands receive the blessing, we ask the congregation to stand and join in a prayer of commitment to Jesus Christ. As we think of the day when we spoke our vows, may this confession renew our faith, that we might more diligently and faithfully serve Him and walk in His ways.|
Pledge of Commitment to Christ
|Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior and King, we look to You today, as we pledge ourselves anew to the faith and work of Your kingdom. Forgive our failures of the past, and enable us by the power of Your Holy Spirit to lift anew our hearts and our minds, that we may constantly serve You and love You, as You have served and loved us. Dear Savior, accept our hearts this day, and make them always Yours. Amen.|
