The Gathering of the Morning Offerings

The Rite of Confirmation After the confirmands receive the blessing, we ask the congregation to stand and join in a prayer of commitment to Jesus Christ.  As we think of the day when we spoke our vows, may this confession renew our faith, that we might more diligently and faithfully serve Him and walk in His ways.

The Pledge of Commitment to Christ (in unison)

Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior and King, we look to You today, as we pledge ourselves anew to the faith and work of Your kingdom.  Forgive our failures of the past, and enable us by the power of Your Holy Spirit to lift anew our hearts and our minds, that we may constantly serve You and love You, as You have served and loved us.  Dear Savior, accept our hearts this day, and make them always Yours.  Amen.

We remember our members celebrating birthdays this week -- Wayne Erxleben, Anna Buuck, Kay Jackson, Sandy Blomenberg, Jon Buuck, Chris Gorman, Jamie Gorman, Ashley Manley, Floyd Thieme, Ann Crosby, Hubert Fuelling, and Bailey Kaehr. In addition, we remember in our prayers our Wyneken 8th grade teacher, Yvonne Schwantz, as well as Cindy DesJean who teaches in the public school system.   May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

The flowers on the altar are to the glory of God and in honor of this year's confirmation class.  May the Lord continue to bless Chelsae, Nathan, Drew, Valerie, Cheryl, Jason, Brian, Megan, Devin, and Tyler.  May the faith they profess today continue to grow and be a guide to them in their lives.

We remember Richard and Margaret Buuck in our prayers as they celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary tomorrow, May 8.  May the Lord continue to bless this couple.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  We especially remember Gerhard Buuck who was hospitalized this past week but has returned home.

Our seventh grade teacher, Marv Drier, has declined the call to Immanuel Lutheran School, Seymour, Indiana.  May the Lord bless him as he continues as our 7th grade teacher.

Even though we sometimes forget, each of us has had a mother, without whom we would not exist, and without whom we would not be who we are.  Dr. Wallace Schulz discusses the thanks and appreciation each of us owes to  our dear mothers.  Hear Dr. Schulz's message,  "Our Mothers Are God's Great Gift!"  on The Lutheran Hour.  The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. and  at 8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM, and at  3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 1090 on Sunday.

The deadline for recipes for our new cookbook is today.  There are  boxes for you to put in your completed forms in either entrance way of the church.  Everyone's help is needed to make this project successful.  If you have any questions, contact one of the committee members, Becky DeKoninck, Karen Gallmeyer, Mary Gallmeyer, Shirley Hormann, or Sylvia Scheumann.
