EASTER FESTIVAL SERVICE

We are happy that you joined us this morning in our celebration of the glorious resurrection of our Lord.  It is always best to share joy with other people.  We invite you to return often and share in our celebration in the new life of this Easter season.  If you arc communing with us this morning, please fill out a communion registration card.  These cards may be found in either entranceway of the church.  Please place the cards in the offering plate or give them to one of the Deacons.  Thank you.

Announcements

We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week - Shirley Gehres, Albert Gallmeyer, Lydia Dahling, Drew Stoppenhagen, Eldina Boese, Betty Sielschott, Josh Stoppenhagen, and Kim Stoppenhagen. We also remember our Wyneken School Board, especially those members from Friedheim (Jim Heckman, Kim Schamerloh, and Stan Stoppenhagen) and one of our public school teachers, Kristie Brown, in our prayers.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We rejoice with Jon & Amie Smithley on the birth of their son, Alexander Jon, on Wednesday, April 19.  May the Good Shepherd keep watch over this most precious of His lambs.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  We especially remember Frank Buuck who underwent surgery this past week and is scheduled to return home this weekend.

We remember the family of Richard Schroeder, son of Alvina Schroeder, who was called to his heavenly home this past week.  May the God of all comfort be with those who mourn.

Once again we have been given the privilege of sharing with you another Holy Week and Easter.  The Lord has truly blessed us in many significant  and incredible ways.  We are Easter people.  May we continue to experience the Lord's presence in our lives.  -- Pastor Dahling and family.

We wish to thank the members of the LYF and their families for their service in providing this morning's Easter breakfast.  Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

We remember in our prayers our seventh grade teacher Marvin Drier who  has received a Call from Immanuel Lutheran School in Seymour, Indiana.   May the Lord of the Church direct him as he deliberates the Lord's direction in his ministry.    After prayerful consideration, Jim Krupski (our Wyneken principal), has accepted the call to Zion Lutheran School in New Palestine, Indiana.  We wish him God's blessings in his new endeavor.

Dr. Dale Meyer reflects upon the life-long blessings of memory work.  Hear Dr. Meyer's "Lutheran Hour" message, "His Disciples Remembered."  next Sunday.  The show airs at 7:35 a.m. on WOWO radio 1190 AM, at 8:05 a.m. on WZBD  92.7 FM, and at 3:30 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. on 1090 AM.

There will be NO Sunday School or Bible Class today because of Easter services.

The Easter bulletin covers were provided by the family of Renada Reinking in loving memory of her sister, Delores Hartmann.

The deadline for recipes is drawing closer (May 1) for our new cookbook.  Forms on which you can submit those family favorites are included in this morning's bulletin.  Please consider submitting a recipe or two (or three or four).  There are boxes in either entrance way for you to place your recipe.  Thanks for your help on this project!

The 3rd Annual Friedheim Open will be played on Saturday, June 24, at Cross Creek in Decatur.  Watch the May newsletter for more details.  If you have any questions or would like to help sponsor this event, please contact Paul Des Jean or Gene Kiess.

The Confirmation Class of 2000 will have their pictures taken this Saturday, April 29,  at 8:00 a.m.  Please be ready for pictures at that time since the photographer has another obligation at 9:30 a.m.  A short practice will follow.

The Decorating Committee wishes to thank those who purchased plants through the committee, donated money, or brought flowers themselves.  The Easter garden certainly enhanced our worship service this morning.  You may pick up your flowers following this morning's service or you may wish to keep the flowers in church to be enjoyed for a few more Sundays.
