We remember our members celebrating birthdays this week -- Kris Blomenberg, Lori Caston, Dennis Schuller, Alyssa Ann Foreman (her first  birthday), Spencer Scheumann, Jacob Lee, Mike Brandt, Dave Miller, Tami Stoppenhagen, Kathy Moellering, and Richard Keuneke. In addition, we remember in our prayers our Wyneken Resource Room teacher, Sarah May.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives.  We especially remember in our prayers this morning    Ernie Muller and Sam Derrow (Misty Gehres' father).

We welcome into membership through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, Oliver Doyle Gehres, son of Todd & Misty Gehres. Serving as godparents are Kimberly Gehres and Mark Witte.  May the Good Shepherd keep an ever-watchful eye on  him.

We welcome the residents of Golden Meadows who have chosen to worship with us this morning.  May the Lord bless each of them.

Fifty percent of all first marriages end in divorce; sixty percent of all second marriages also end up on the marital scrap heap.  Listen to Dr. Wallace Schulz  as he explains why this does not have to happen to you or your family.  Hear Dr. Wallace Schulz's message, "The Key to a Happy Marriage,"     on The Lutheran Hour.  The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. (8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM) on Sunday.

Next Sunday, January 16,  is the date for the Annual Meeting.  Plans are to have the meeting immediately following the worship service.  Sunday School will be held; however, there will be no Bible Class.

Minutes from the October Quarterly Voters' Meeting as well as the Dec. 13, 1999 Election and Budget meeting are in either entrance of the church.  If you wish to look these minutes over prior to the Annual meeting, please pick up a copy as you leave the worship service this morning.

Once again we have been permitted to celebrate with you the gift of God in His Son Jesus.  Now in this Epiphany season, we see that this Jesus truly is the Son of God.  We thank God for each of you and pray His blessing throughout this new year.

Pastor Dahling & family

Dear Members of Friedheim,

Amie and I would like to say thank you for all the cards and presents and gifts that we received from you.  Thank you for your kindness and love.  God has certainly blessed us with a wonderful congregation to serve.  May the Lord richly bless you this day and forever.

Jon, Amie, & Rachel Smithley

As we enter the new year, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my family's thanks to the members of Zion, Friedheim, for welcoming us into your midst's.  This past year has been a big adjustment for the family, and the membership has made this transition a very smooth one for us.  I'd also like to thank the members for their prayers and recent financial support of our family.  Your thoughts, prayers, cards, concert tickets, and monetary gifts were truly a blessing to us.  May God continue to work with us as we give thanks to the triune God.  Once again, thank you!

Bob, Ruth, Chelsae, & Tyler Armao

Are some of those holiday bills starting to come in?  Just a reminder that you can use   SCRIP to pay off your charges at L. S. Ayres, Lowes, Kohl's,  and J. C. Penney's. See Kris Blomenberg or Becky DeKoninck after the worship service this morning if you wish to purchase some SCRIP.

Help is desperately needed to help run the concession stand at the home basketball games.  If you could help by working at one or more of the games, it would be very much appreciated.  There is a concession sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the school office or you can contact Denise Conrad at 639-6839.  Profits from the concession stand help pay tournament fees, buy new equipment, new uniforms, supplies, and other needs for our athletic program.  Please consider volunteering some time for this project.  THANKS!
