+ SOLI DEO GLORIA +

The Lord's Supper: "In this Sacrament, the Forgiveness of Sins is not only preached, proclaimed, and promised, but here at the same time Christ gives, His Christians, His Very Body and Blood, as a pledge of it" (Walther). As we receive His gift, we ask any guests desiring to commune to speak with the Pastor before the service. Because of the Bible's witness to doctrinal oneness by those receiving the Sacrament together, the churches of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod promise to practice closed communion.

Announcements

We remember our members celebrating birthdays this week -- Scott Gehres, Barbara Geyer, Heidi Knipstein, Matt Nidlinger, Katie Linnemeier, Amy Dekoninck, Amanda Hunkins, Erik Blomenberg, Carrie Robinson, and Becky Dekoninck. We also remember, in our prayers, our second grade teacher, Diane George, and also, Deborah Miller, who teaches at our sister congregation, Zion, Decatur. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives. We especially remember, in our prayers this morning, Eugene Burger, Anne Hess' father, who is at Parkview Hospital.

The flowers on the altar this morning were given to the glory of God, in honor of Mike and Carol Selking, by their children, for their 25th anniversary on Tuesday.
