We remember our members celebrating birthdays this week -- Marlene DeKoninck, Karen Gallmeyer, Addy Schuller, Kevin Heckman, Tammy Bickel, John Kock, Karen Buuck, Shirley Buuck, Dale Gallmeyer, Deb Bergman, Ron Buuck, Stephanie Evans and Karly Everett. We also remember, in our prayers, our third/fourth grade teacher, Ruth Armao, and our public school teacher, Monica Stoppenhagen. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

May the Great Physician grant health and strength to all who are in need of His presence in their lives. We especially remember, in our prayers this morning, Andy Buuck, who is at home recuperating from surgery, and also Eugene Burger, Anne Hess' father, who is at Parkview Hospital.

The flowers on the altar this morning were given to the glory of God, in honor of Ron and Kathy Bultemeier, by their children, for their anniversary today.

"My Lord, Katie," Martin Luther affectionately called her. 1999 marks the 500th birthday of this most famous of all pastors' wives. Speaking on Psalm 128, Dr. Dale Meyer uses the life of Katie Luther to illustrate some Biblical and Reformation truths. Hear Dr. Meyer's message, "The Angels Laugh, the Devils Weep" on The Lutheran Hour. The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. (8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM) on Sunday.

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. Listen to next week's program, "Dangerous Marriage" Are there characteristics of an abuser? Is there somewhere to turn for help? Why Me? Guests give advice, insight and hope for victims of domestic violence.

Council Members: the October council meeting minutes are in your slots in the entry ways, in preparation for the November 2nd council meeting.

AAL is sponsoring a brunch next Sunday, October 31, after Sunday School and Bible Class; election of officers will be held, but their will be NO meeting.

Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) has donated $150.00 to our congregation as part of its support to Lutheran churches. This support provides charitable donations to Lutheran congregations, that may suffer losses in offerings when parishioners become disabled. Donations are given, if AAL members of a congregation become disabled, and are receiving benefits from AAL disability income insurance. Thanks AAL!!
