The Accolyte

Nathan Conrad (7:30 a.m.)
Drew Heckman (9:00 a.m.)

We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week -- Jacob Bergman, Gabrielle Alana Brandt (her first), Jamie Selking, Elfurt Blomenberg, Jacob Conrad, and John Nidlinger. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We remember in our prayers this morning, Louise Fuhrmann, who is in the extended care unit at Adams County Memorial Hospital. May the Great Physician grant health and strength to her and all who are in need of His presence in their lives.

We're accustomed to hearing that "God is love" but the Bible also talks frequently about the wrath of God. Dr. Dale Meyer examines how God handles His wrath. Hear his message, "The Wrath of God," on The Lutheran Hour. The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. (8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM) on Sunday.

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. Listen to next week's program, "She Couldn't Say No." How do you heal after rape--both emotionally and physically? How do you face each.

Produce of all kinds are needed for our produce market. We are open through the week as well as on weekends. Bring your produce to the "Cornfusion" sight. Place it in the cooler wagon or on the tables. Call Teri Conrad (724-8464) if you have any questions.

The "Cornfusion" food committee has been meeting and would welcome any contributions of the following now and throughout the summer and fall.

Bottled water Pop (in cans) - Pepsi or Coke products Mustard
Hamburger Buns (hot dog and hamburger) Nacho chips
Hot dogs Cash

You may contact any committee member -- Tami Stoppenhagen (728-9101), Kris Blomenberg (547-4673), Evie Fuhrman (639-3158), Dorothy Heckman (547-4497), Janice Buuck (432-9039) & Joy Erxleben (547-4139); they would also be willing to pick up your donation. Thanks in advance for your help

Just a reminder that a Special Voters' Meeting is planned for Sunday, August 8, following the worship service. Bids on the church roof will be the topic of discussion.

Mark your calendars for Friday, August 13. JETS will be meeting at Mike & Judy Werling's at 7:00 p.m. Bring your flashlights since we'll be trying to see if a "haunted" maze will be possible for this fall. You are also asked to bring drinks and appetizers. Hope to see at the "Cornfusion" sight!

ATTENDANCE: Sunday Worship Service - 194

The school office at Wyneken will be open mornings only through the summer months. You may also contact Mr. Krupski at his home (623-6316) in the evenings if needed.

Just a reminder that school registration will be Tuesday, August 17, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. If you did not receive registration forms, please contact the school.

SCRIP order forms and certificates will be available throughout the summer at our church. McDonald's (Decatur and Berne area only) is now participating in our SCRIP program (at a 10% rate). In addition, you may now use Kohl's SCRIP to pay off your Kohl's charge. Consider SCRIP when doing your back-to-school shopping! See Kris Blomenberg this morning, if you wish to purchase SCRIP.

The 8th graders will be manning the Pepsi wagon outside the Decatur Scott's store this weekend (August 6-8) and next weekend (August 13-15). If you are hungry for a hot dog and drink, stop by the Pepsi wagon. Times of operation were not available when the bulletin was printed. All funds will be used for their Washington, DC trip next spring.
