We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week -- Kent Stoppenhagen, Brandon Buuck, Dawn Buuck, Nathan Buuck, Kari Heckman, Jill Blomenberg and Chad Fuhrmann. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We remember Andy Buuck who has now returned home to recuperate, and also Louise Fuhrmann, who is a patient at Adams County Memorial Hospital. May the Great Physician grant health and strength to him and all who are in need of His presence in their lives.

We also remember in our prayers, the family of Ervin and Velma Schuller, due to the loss of their son-in-law this past week; may the God of Comfort be with them as they mourn his passing.

Council Members: The minutes from the July 6 Council Meeting are in your slots in the entrance way of the church. Please pick up your copy as you leave the worship service this morning. The next Council meeting is Tuesday, August 3.

Concerned about internet pornography? The Bible says, "Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Hear Dr. Wallace Schulz's Lutheran Hour message, "Stand Up Against Evil", on The Lutheran Hour. The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. (8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM).

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. Listen to next week's program, "Starving for Love." Eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia have been on the rise in recent years. The media reinforces the notion that size matters. The smaller you are, the more attractive you are. But how thin is too thin? What price are we paying for this attitude?

The men's softball team has two games scheduled for this week. On Thursday, July 15, they will play Flatrock at 7 PM and Soest at 8:30 PM at Hoagland.

The LWML will be meeting in the church basement on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM.  Ann Crosby and Doris Conrad will be sharing new materials and news from the international convention, "Let Freedom Ring," which was held in Minneapolis this past week.

"Cornfusion" will be open to the congregation on Sunday, July 11, following the Quarterly Voters' Meeting. Plans are to have a "Dress Down Sunday" so there is no need to go home to change out of your "church clothes" before going to the maze. The Concession Committee will also be serving lunch at the maze site. "Cornfusion" will then be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A free will donation will get you lunch and maze admission. Mark your calendars, bring your family, and enjoy be "cornfused!"
