We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week -- James Fuhrmann. Linda Conrad, Meri Everett, Mark Jackson, Glenn Miller, Don Bultemeier, Jarvis Cale, Sam Conrad, Brian Erxleben, Shawn Kiess, Alex Lichtle, and Dawn Stoppenhagen. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We remember Andy Buuck who is a patient at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. May the Great Physician grant health and strength to him and all who are in need of His presence in their lives.

TODAY there will be a door collection for Lutheran Social Services.

Concerned about internet pornography? The Bible says, "Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Hear Dr. Wallace Schulz's Lutheran Hour message, "Stand Up Against Evil", on The Lutheran Hour. The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. (8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM).

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. Listen to next week's program, "Starving for Love." Eating disorders such as anorexianervosa and bulimia have been on the rise in recent years. The media reinforces the notion that size matters. The smaller you are, the more attractive you are. But how thin is too thin? What price are we paying for this attitude?

The men's softball team has one game scheduled for this week. On Thursday, July 8, they will play Bingen at 8:30 p.m. at Hoagland.

Council Members: The minutes from the June 1 Council Meeting are in your slots in the entrance way of the church. Please pick up your copy as you leave the worship service this morning. The next Council meeting is Tuesday, July 6.

Dear Members of Friedheim,

We wish to thank everyone who sent cards and expressed well wishes for our 50th anniversary. May the Lord continue to bless each of you.

Delmar & Joyce Heckman

The Quarterly Voters' Meeting will be held next Sunday, July 11 following the worship service. Minutes from the April meeting were included in the July newsletter. Since they will not be read at the meeting next Sunday, please take some time to read them and bring them with you to the meeting.

"Cornfusion" will be open to the congregation on Sunday, July 11, following the Quarterly Voters' Meeting. Plans are to have a "Dress Down Sunday" so there is no need to go home to change out of your "church clothes" before going to the maze. The Concession Committee will also be serving lunch at the maze site. "Cornfusion" will then be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A free will donation will get you lunch and maze admission. Mark your calendars, bring your family, and enjoy be "cornfused!"

One more work day is scheduled for Cornfusion on Saturday, July 10 at 9:00 a.m. All the final preparations will be made including placement of the sponsorship signs and banners, final walk-through of the maze, straw bale placement and station set-up. Please let Judy Werling know if you can make it at 639-6132.

Thanks in advance for your help

The truck garden is in need of bushel baskets, bushel baskets, quart containers, and pint containers. Please contact Teri Conrad at 724-8464 if you can help with supplying some of these baskets. Also, don't forget to give Teri a call as your produce becomes available.

Cornfusion" is in need of a 2-way radio or walkie-talkie (-mile range). If you are willing to donate or lend these items through October 31, please contact Judy Werling (639-6132).

Volunteers are needed to work at "Cornfusion." A sign-up sheet is included in this morning's bulletin. Please take a moment to check your schedules and see when it would work for you to help at the maze. There will be a master schedule in the south entrance way of the church for you to check to remind you of when you signed up. Please complete the form and return to any committee member (listed on the sheet) as soon as possible. Everyone's cooperation and participation is needed to make "Cornfusion" run smoothly.

Wyneken News

THANK YOU to all the volunteers who helped with sealing the parking lot at Wyneken this past week. Your help was greatly appreciated.
