We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week -- Paul DeKoninck, Kolton Everett, Jessica P. Linnemeier, Cassie Conrad, Andy Buuck, Scott Hormann, Megan Selking, and Candace Sielschott. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.
We remember Leona Worth who has returned home after a hospital stay, Andy Buuck and Ernie Muller who remain under doctors' care, and Staci Kable who is undergoing rehabilitation at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. May the Great Physician grant health and strength to them and all who are in need of His presence in their lives.
The Sunday Bible class will meet throughout the summer. The book of Daniel will be discussed.
A look at cross-cultural missions reinforces one truth. God is answering the prayer, "Thy kingdom come." Hear Dr. Dale Meyer's message, "The Kingdom is Coming!" The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. (8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM).
Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. Listen to next week's program, "What is 'Goth'?" You look around and see young people with black clothes, white faces, jet-black hair, and black fingernails...What's THAT all about? These are all symbols of the "Goth" subculture. What is it? What effect is it having on your children?
The men's softball team has only one game scheduled for this week. On Friday, June 25, they will play Flatrock at 7:00 p.m. at Decatur.
The "Cornfusion" food committee has been meeting and would welcome any contributions of the following now and throughout the summer and fall.
Buns (hot dog and hamburger)
Pop (in cans) - Pepsi or Coke products
You may contact any committee member -- Tami Stoppenhagen (728-9101), Kris Blomenberg (547-4673), Evie Fuhrman (639-3158), Dorothy Heckman (547-4497), Janice Buuck (432-9039), and Joy Erxleben (547-4139) -- and they would be more than willing to pick up your donation. Thanks in advance for your help
Attention Council Members! There will be a joint meeting of the church councils of Bingen, Preble, and Friedheim on Monday, June 21, at 8:00 p.m. in the Bingen Fellowship Hall. At this meeting proposed plans for the school expansion will be reviewed. All Council members are asked to attend this important meeting.
The Portals of Prayer and the LWML Quarterlies have arrived. You may pick up your copy after you leave this morning's service.
"Cornfusion" is in need of the following items. If you are willing to donate or lend any of the following items through October 31, please contact Judy Werling (639-6132).
2-way radio or walkie talkie (½-mile range)
Refrigerator/freezer (full size)
5 gallon drink cooler (two needed)
Also a "workday" has been scheduled for Saturday, June 26, at the "Cornfusion" site (Mike & Judy Werling's) starting at 9:00 a.m. Please bring wheelbarrows, shovels, post hole diggers, hoes, and small sledge hammers. With enough help, all needed tasks should be completed by noon. Please call Judy Werling (639-6132) and let her know that you can help and what tools you can bring. If you can't come but can loan some of the needed items, also let Judy know. Thanks in advance for your help.
Your help is needed! Volunteers are needed to help seal the parking lot at Wyneken on Wednesday, June 30, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Zwick & Jahn Funeral Homes has purchased the material for their lot as well as Wyneken's at a substantial saving. If you can help that day, please contact Stan Stoppenhagen by Friday, June 25.
We remember in our prayers Mrs. Heidi Werling who has been given a one-year contract to teach fourth grade. We pray that the Lord would direct her to accept this position.
We also remember Mr. Ken Germann who has accepted the call to Faith Lutheran Church and School in Plano, Texas. He will teach fourth grade as well as work with their musical program. May the Lord bless him in this new endeavor.
Thanks to all who came and helped clean the classrooms. Your help was very much appreciated.
The school office at Wyneken will be open mornings only through the summer months. You may also contact Mr. Krupski at his home (623-6316) in the evenings if needed. However, the school office will be closed from Monday, June 28, through Monday, July 5.
