The Acolyte Nathan Conrad

+ SOLI DEO GLORIA +

We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week -- Willis Conrad and Wally Bultemeier. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We remember Leona Worth in our prayers as she remains a patient at Caylor-Nickel Clinic in Bluffton, Louise Fuhrmann who returned home,, Ken Germann and Marty Cole who were at Lutheran but have now returned home, and Staci Kable who was transferred to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. May the Great Physician grant health and strength to them and all who are in need of His presence in their lives.

We also remember in our prayers the Class of 1999 - Jill Blomenberg, Mark Buuck, Jacob Conrad, Kevin Conrad, Brian Erxleben, Erica Everett, Andrea Jackson, Heidi Knipstein, and Jenny Schamerloh. Graduation exercises were held this weekend at their respective high schools. May God's presence remain constant in their lives as they head to college and/or the work world.

We also remember our college graduates - Cynthia Bultemeier, Shelby Bultemeier, Jennifer Buuck, and Monica Stoppenhagen. We congratulate them as they have completed their degrees and have begun a new chapter in their lives.

We rejoice with Joe and Leanne (Conrad) Lee who were blessed with a little boy, Matthew Joseph, last Monday, June 7. May the Good Shepherd watch over this most precious of His lambs.

The flowers on the altar this morning are to the glory of God and in honor of Delmar and Joyce Heckman whose 50th anniversary was June 5. The flowers were placed in church with love and admiration by their children and grandchildren. May the Lord continue to bless this couple.

The Sunday Bible class will meet throughout the summer. The book of Daniel will be discussed.

During the summer months (since there is no Sunday School), a children's sermon will be given on non-communion Sundays. This morning will be the first of these sermons. Parents, please encourage your child(ren) to come forward when called to be a part of this message which is geared especially for them.

Wrote Wilhelm Busch, "To become a father is not hard. To be a father is, however." That being so, pray, father, that God's kingdom comes to your family! Tune in next Sunday to hear Dr. Dale Meyer's message, "The Things They Didn't Tell you!" The show airs on WOWO at 7:35 a.m. and at 8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM.

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. Listen to next week's program, "Performance: Mastering the Zone," on "Woman to Woman." Guests provide practical tips for reaching and maintaining optimum physical and mental performance.

There will be an AAL meeting this morning following the worship service. They will meet in the back of the church.
