We remember those members who are
celebrating birthdays this week -- Ten Conrad, Brittany Franke, Meghann Manley,
Deb Miller, Vanessa Robinson, Tom Buuck, Dick Miller, and Duane Kiess.
We also remember our Wyneken cooks and custodian, Shelley Kiefer, Angie
Werling, Sharon Brenneke, and Kim Ehlerding, in our prayers.
May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.
We remember in our prayers our
seminarian, Ernie Muller, who has returned home after a long stay at Parkview
and continues with radiation/chemotherapy treatments, Rosa Hartmann and Louise
Fuhrmann who returned home after stays at Adams County Memorial Hospital, and
Andy Buuck who continues under doctors care.
May the Great Physician be with them and continue to watch over these the
sheep of His fold as well as all other’s in need.
We extend our sympathy to the family
and friends of Ed Scheumann, Dennis Scheumann’s father and Richard Scheumann's
brother, who was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 7, and will be
given Christian burial this afternoon. May
the God of all comfort he with those who mourn and remind them of that wonderful
day when all will be reunited with their loved ones.
We remember in our prayers Marlin and
Alma Keidel who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday,
April 17. We thank the Lord for
all the blessings he has given this couple and pray that he will continue to

seventh grade teacher, Marvin Drier, who has received a call from Trinity
Lutheran School in St. Joseph Michigan and Miss Kathryn Krohe from Zion Lutheran
School in Alexandria, Minnesota who has received a call to be our fourth grade
teacher at Wyneken.

All members of the congregation are
invited to come to the AAL benefit for our seminarian, Ernie Muller, and his
family today at Wyneken.
Serving will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Carryout

Members: Just a reminder that you are to help
at the benefit dinner today. Freshmen
and seniors are to work the first shift (10:30 a.m. to 11:45.a.m.) while the
sophomores and juniors are to work the second shift (11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
There will be NO Sunday Schoo1 or Bible Class today due to the benefit.
Also there will be No Bible Class next Sunday due to our Quarterly Voters' Meeting.
Besides reports from our various boards
and committees, two items to be discussed at our Quarterly Voters’ Meeting are
using both individual cup and common cup on communion Sundays and the possible
use of the Parish Hall for Wyneken’s Pre-Kindergarten program for the
1999-2000 school year. Please try
to stay for this important meeting of our congregation that will be held
immediately following the worship service next Sunday,
Church cleaning has been scheduled for
this Saturday. April 17, beginning at
8:30 a.m. Please bring brooms,
rakes, and shovels. Younger members
are also encouraged to come. For

selling tombstones and raking the ball diamond among other outside projects.

The LWML will have their quarterly
meeting this Tuesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the church basement. Rev.
William Brege will be the guest speaker. He
will bring his slides of Russia (southern Siberia and Latvia). All members of the congregation are welcome to attend.

Pastor Brege's presentation will be the first item on the agenda. You may
wish to come to hear and see his presentation and then leave if you don't wish
to stay for the business portion of the meeting.
Ladies who are remaining for the meeting are asked to wear a cross, a
piece of jewelry with a cross on it, or are to bring a cross
that has a special significance to you.
The LWML Spring Praise Service will be
held this Saturday, April 17, at 9 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Berne.
The service, “Let Freedom Ring,” will include the Handbell Choir from
St. John's Bingen. A continental brunch will follow the service and a freewill
offering will be taken to cover expenses. Children

choir this week since Sandy will be out of town.
Choir practice will resume on April 21.
Bethlehem Lutheran School, Ossian,
invites our congregation to their hog roast and round and square dance this
Saturday, April 17, at their school. Dinner
will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the dance beginning at 7:30 p.m.
and running to 10:30 p.m. Music
will be provided by Breakaway.
A freewill donation is being accepted.
Funds raised will go to new playground and sports equipment.
Zion Lutheran School (grades 5-8) is
hosting a pork chop and chicken dinner today
from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. AAL
branch #571 is cosponsoring this event. All
members of the congregation are invited to this meal.
One location for Focus on health
will be at the lower level of Concord Village II at 6723 S. Anthony Boulevard in
Fort Wayne on Friday, April 16, from 7:00 a.m. to noon. There will be free health checks for participants over 18
years of age as well as two optional tests (for a small fee) available. See the
insert in this morning’s bulletin for more information.

To help make the necessary plans, the school would like to know how many
plan to attend and if they intend to eat lunch with the children.
A form was sent home with the students and should be returned to the
school by Monday, April 12.
The Pre-K through second grade students
wish to invite you to their spring program.
It will be held this Thursday,
April 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the school's gym. Come and enjoy an evening of
singing and dancing by our younger students. Parents, there will probably be a
bake sale that night. Check your
parent note to see if you are to bring items to the bake sale.
Our 7th grade class is having a
broasted chicken and pork chop dinner next
Sunday, April 18, at Wyneken. The
menu also includes broasted potatoes, applesauce, coleslaw, roll, desserts, and
drinks. Tickets are $6 for
adults and $3.50 for children. Profits
from the dinner will be used for their Washington, DC trip in May 2000. Seventh
grade parents you are reminded that you are to bring two 9” x 13”
desserts or 4 pies.
The next PTL meeting is scheduled for Monday,
April 19, at 6:30 p.m. Make plans to attend.
