Announcements

We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week -- Ten Conrad, Brittany Franke, Meghann Manley, Deb Miller, Vanessa Robinson, Tom Buuck, Dick Miller, and Duane Kiess.  We also remember our Wyneken cooks and custodian, Shelley Kiefer, Angie Werling, Sharon Brenneke, and Kim Ehlerding, in our prayers.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We remember in our prayers our seminarian, Ernie Muller, who has returned home after a long stay at Parkview and continues with radiation/chemotherapy treatments, Rosa Hartmann and Louise Fuhrmann who returned home after stays at Adams County Memorial Hospital, and Andy Buuck who continues under doctors care.  May the Great Physician be with them and continue to watch over these the sheep of His fold as well as all other’s in need.

We extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Ed Scheumann, Dennis Scheumann’s father and Richard Scheumann's brother, who was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 7, and will be given Christian burial this afternoon.  May the God of all comfort he with those who mourn and remind them of that wonderful day when all will be reunited with their loved ones.

We remember in our prayers Marlin and Alma Keidel who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday, April 17.  We thank the Lord for all the blessings he has given this couple and pray that he will continue to bless them.

We also remember in our prayers our seventh grade teacher, Marvin Drier, who has received a call from Trinity Lutheran School in St. Joseph Michigan and Miss Kathryn Krohe from Zion Lutheran School in Alexandria, Minnesota who has received a call to be our fourth grade teacher at Wyneken.

Tune in to The Lutheran Hour next Sunday.  The program is broadcast at 7:35 a.m. on WOWO and at 8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM.

All members of the congregation are invited to come to the AAL benefit for our seminarian, Ernie Muller, and his family today at Wyneken.  Serving will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Carryout will also be available.  Enjoy Ed Fox's fish and tenderloin, broasted potatoes, salads, desserts, and drinks.  A freewill donation will be accepted.  Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.

LYF Members: Just a reminder that you are to help at the benefit dinner today.  Freshmen and seniors are to work the first shift (10:30 a.m. to 11:45.a.m.) while the sophomores and juniors are to work the second shift (11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).

There will be NO Sunday Schoo1 or Bible Class today due to the benefit.  Also there will be No Bible Class next Sunday due to our Quarterly Voters' Meeting.

Besides reports from our various boards and committees, two items to be discussed at our Quarterly Voters’ Meeting are using both individual cup and common cup on communion Sundays and the possible use of the Parish Hall for Wyneken’s Pre-Kindergarten program for the 1999-2000 school year.  Please try to stay for this important meeting of our congregation that will be held immediately following the worship service next Sunday, April 18.

Church cleaning has been scheduled for this Saturday. April 17, beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Please bring brooms, rakes, and shovels.  Younger members are also encouraged to come.  For more information, please call Kris Blomenberg at 547-4673 or Dale Heckman at 724-4340.  We will be raking stones, selling tombstones and raking the ball diamond among other outside projects.  Thank you for helping to beautify our church and grounds.

The Trustees wish to remind everyone that all flower arrangements or other items that could impede mowing the cemetery should be removed as soon as possible.  Your help in this matter is appreciated.

JETS will meet this Saturday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Mike and Denise Conrad (15936 Marion Center Road).  All adult members of the congregation are welcome to come.  Please bring your own snacks.

You may wish to come to hear and see his presentation and then leave if you don't wish to stay for the business portion of the meeting.  Ladies who are remaining for the meeting are asked to wear a cross, a piece of jewelry with a cross on it, or are to bring a cross    that has a special significance to you.
