We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week --Jeff Bradtmueller, Shirley Witte, Marie Ehner, and Chris Putteet.  We also remember one of our third grade teachers, Jennifer Ackmann, in our prayers.  May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

We remember in our prayers our seminarian, Ernie Muller who remains a patient at Parkview Hospital.  May the Great Physician be with him and all others in need.

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the “Woman to Woman” program.  It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FNI) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday.

Continue to come to our midweek Lenten services.  This Wednesday Simon of Cyrene (“I was pressed into service”) will be the focus of the noon service while Mary Magdalene (“I had my life changed”) will be the focus of the 7:30 p.m. service.

The AAL will be serving refreshments following the midweek evening service.  If you would be willing to help with this project, please contact Shirley Hormann.

Mark your calendars!  Next Sunday, March 14, is the day for our Soup and Sandwich Dinner.  There will also be a craft and bake sale.  Included in this morning's bulletin is a flyer advertising our dinner.  Would you help advertise our dinner by taking this poster to work or to a local business?

If you are donating items for the craft and bake sale, please have the craft items to the Parish Hall by Saturday morning.  The bake sale items should be taken to Wyneken on Sunday morning or be in the church basement by 9 a.m. Sunday.

Are you willing to donate a salad or dessert?  If so, please contact Sean or Betty Sielschott (724-3946) for salad donations or Lester or Ruby Werling (547-4138) for pie or cake donations.  Please let them know today.  There is a sign-tip sheet for salad donations in the entranceway of die church. A special thanks to our Sunday School children as they again are bringing there Mite offerings for the Vision 2000 campaign.

LYF Members:         The work schedule for the Soup & Sandwich Dinner next week is as follows: freshmen and seniors are to work 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. while the sophomore and juniors are to work 11:45 am. to 1:00 p.m.

In addition, Bingen's LYF is having a lock-in on Friday, March 19, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Wyneken arid have invited our LYF to join them.  You are to bring pop and snacks.  Pizza will be provided.

There will be a door collection this morning is for WLAB and Worship for Shut Ins.

The men's basketball team will begin post-season play tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. at Monmouth. They will be playing Pleasant Mills.

There has been sonic interest in publishing E-mail addresses for members to communicate with each other and pastor as well as receive information from the church.  If you would like to have your address published ill a small booklet (next year it would be included the membership directory which also lists home addresses and phone numbers), please type up your E-mail address and get it to the church office (or to Pastor Dahling).

"Lutheran Men of Song," a 25-member men’s choir from Fort Wayne area Lutheran churches, will present a 1½-hour concert on Sunday, March 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Bingen.  The concert consists of a wide variety of songs including old-time favorites and a short intermission of congregational singing.  There will be a freewill offering.

The St Peter - Immanuel PTL will have their “All You Can Eat“ fish and tenderloin dinner on Sunday, March 14, at the Union Township hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  A bake sale will also be held. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children (ages 5-12).

St. John's Lutheran Church Men's Club will have a fish and tenderloin dinner on Sunday, March 21, at Wyneken.  Serving will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children (6-12).  Carryouts are available.


There will be a half-day of school on Monday, March. 8. North Adams students will have bus transportation both ways while East Allen students will need to find a ride home.  School will be dismissed at 11:40 a.m.

Wyneken's Science Fair will be held on Monday, March 8.  There will be an open house to view these projects from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the gym.

Standard Achievement testing for all grades will be this week Parents, please make sure your children are well rested so that they can do their best on these tests.

Wyneken is taking bids for lawn care.  These bids need to be submitted to a School Board member or the school office by Wednesday, March 10.  If you have questions, please contact a Board member or the school. Friedheim's School Board members are Jim Heckman, Kim Schamerloh, and Stan Stoppenhagen.

Registration forms for the 1999-2000 school year have been mailed and should be returned to the school office by Friday, March 26.

March 31 is the deadline for redeeming “Box Tops for Education” and the Campbell's “Labels for Education” program.  Please send in your labels as soon as possible.  You can continue to save these items and send them to school even after this deadline to get a head start on next year.  Your support of this program is very much appreciated.

Just a reminder that Kindergarten Round Up will be held at Northwest Elementary School on Thursday, April 6, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  A Fun Day for grades Pre-K through 4th will be held in May (date to be announced later).  Parents are needed to help plan and run events for this day.  If you are interested, please contact the school office for more information.

SCRIP will be available today following the worship service.  Are you beginning to make travel plans for spring break?  American Airlines as well as the Hyatt, Marriott, Courtyard, Residence and Fairfield Inns are all SCRIP vendors.  See Kris Blomenberg if you have any questions.

Wrestling News

There are two away wrestling meets this week.  On Tuesday, March 9, Wyneken will be traveling to St. Paul and on Thursday, March 11, Central is the site of the meet.  Both meets begin at 4:15 p.m.
