We remember Eldina Boese who is a patient at Adams County Memorial Hospital and Addy Schuller who remains a patient at Lutheran Hospital in our prayers. We pray that the Great Physician is with them and all others in need.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Rev. Herman Reese, brother of Paul Fuhrmann and brother-in-law of Louise Fuhrmann, who was called to glory and given Christian burial this past week. May the God of all comfort be with those who mourn and remind them of that wonderful day when all will be reunited wit their loved ones in heaven.

We welcome into church membership through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism Emily Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Mike and Dawn (Gallmeyer) Miller. Serving, as godparents are Jon and Angie Gallmeyer. May the Good Shepherd continue to watch over and bless this most precious of His lambs.

We remember those members who are celebrating birthdays this week – Cameron Thieme, Shelby Kiess, Emily Conrad, Ed Werling, Mark Witte, Carol Hitzfield, and John Nidlinger, Jr. We also remember our 8th grade teacher, Dianne Hormann in our prayers. May the Lord continue to guide, direct, and bless their lives.

Many young people are desperately lonely. However, God assures us that He loves us and is always present to help, encourage, and assure us. Dr. Wallace Schulz explains why we are never really alone. Listen to his message, "You are Never Alone," on The Lutheran Hour next Sunday. The program is broadcast at 7:35 a.m. on WOWO and at 8:05 a.m. on 92.7 FM.

Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsors the "Woman to Woman" program. It can be heard on WLAB (88.3 FM) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday or 11:00 a.m. on WLYV (1450 AM) on Sunday. The program on January 24 is "Hollywood: Are Our Children under the Influence?" What do our kids absorb from entertainment? Does violence, sex and obscenity have any effect? Do Hollywood films influence our children?
